London Web3 Week Recap: Connecting, Learning, and Building Together

London Web3 Week was an absolute blast! It was packed with events, conversations and new connections, kicking off with a Crypto Mondays London event and keeping the momentum all the way through to Zebu LIVE.

Here’s a quick rundown of what went down and what’s coming up.

Crypto Mondays London Event

London Web3 Week got things started with Crypto Mondays London. The event was filled will familiar faces and the theme was on web2 to web3.

The night was full of insights, and a few things really stood out. First, it’s clear that education and community are at the heart of the future of Web3. There’s a big push to make blockchain more approachable for newcomers, while still giving experts a space to share what they know and learn from each other. One big takeaway? If Web3 is going to hit the mainstream, we have to make it simpler. Right now, the tech can be a bit of a headache, especially for people who aren’t super technical but still want to be involved. We need to find ways to cut down the friction, whether that’s making it easier to get started or just streamlining how things work day-to-day.

The panel: Ariane Murphy from Flight3, Stephen Newnham from Superteam UK, Abhishek Singh from Voice of Crypto, and Hillary Adler from BitcoinOS, absolutely delivered.

Tuesday: WIBT’s London Global Chapter Event with Trilitech

Tuesday night was all about connection with diversity at its core.

WiBT in collaboration with Trilitech hosted our quarterly #London Global Chapter Event, and it didn’t disappoint. The energy was fantastic, with so many people, new and old, genuinely excited about what’s next and how we can build it together, inclusively.

It feels like London’s Web3 community is only getting stronger, and we can’t wait to see where this momentum takes us!

We had Beata Lipska, Developer Advocate at Trilitech and Valya from PMC as the panelist, where she discussed the future of regulation on the web3 space. It was a rivetting talk with many questions after.

Thursday & Friday : ZebuLIVE - London Web3 Conference

Some Takeaways:

  • Building a Sustainable Community
The secret to building a strong, sustainable community? Stick to the basics: vision, rules, and the “whys.” It’s not about chasing vanity metrics but about fostering meaningful engagement. Whether it’s a project-based, mission-driven, or personal community, people stay for the value you bring. Keep things authentic, and your community will thrive.
  • Why Web3 is Exciting
One of the big draws to Web3 is its core principles: decentralization and autonomy. The idea of a trustless system, where people can interact without needing a middleman, is a game-changer. Web3 is here to solve real-world problems, offering a step-change and levelling up of technology. It’s more than just new tech; it’s a new way of thinking.
  • Focus on Crime, Not the Tool
A crucial point that came up was the misconception around “crypto-crime.” There’s no such thing as crypto-crime; rather, crypto can be used as a tool to commit a crime, just like any other form of currency. The focus should be on the crime itself, not on demonizing the tool. It’s a subtle but important distinction that could change how regulations are shaped.
  • The Importance of Culture in a Decentralized World
One recurring theme was culture—what it takes to build and nurture it, especially in a decentralized workspace. The consensus? It all comes down to passion. Passion for the Web3 space, passion for the company, and passion for the project. That’s the driving force behind a strong culture, even when there’s no central office or traditional structure. In the end, it’s the shared enthusiasm that binds people together.

WiBT’s Coworking Day at Huckletree, Oxford Street
